Welcome to Caruso Middle School

We’re excited to welcome your student to Caruso. Middle school is an important transition, and our goal is to support every child as they grow academically, socially, and emotionally. At Caruso, students are challenged, supported, and encouraged to build confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging.

What to Expect in 6th Grade

The transition to middle school brings new opportunities and responsibilities. At Caruso, we support students as they:

  • Build routines and organization skills
  • Adjust to multiple teachers and classes
  • Take on increasing academic expectations

Our staff works closely with students to ensure they feel supported throughout the year.

Important Dates

  • Week of May 18: 5th Grade Visit
  • June 2: Fly-Up Day
  • August 12: Locker Day
  • August 17: First Day of School
    • (half day)
  • August 21: 6th Grade Bash

Health Requirements

  • October 15: Health Exam & Immunization Records
  • May 15: Dental Exam

Students participate in a balanced schedule that includes both core and exploratory classes.

Families play an important role in a successful transition. You can support your student by:

  • Maintaining consistent daily routines
  • Checking in regularly about their day
  • Helping them stay organized
  • Encouraging independence and problem-solving
